What is RGB LED Find the answer to the frequently asked LED Lights related question: What is RGB LED? To understand what RGB LED is, let's take an example of one of the prominent places where it's used: television. TV has been with us for almost a century now. Until just recently, almost every television was of the standard cathode ray tube (or CRT) type. LED television is a fairly new innovation in the world of TV design. An LED TV simply means that it's an LCD television which uses tiny light-emitting diodes to provide the light for the screen. However, there is more than one kind of LED. There is the white light and there are the red, green, blue ones (or RGB). In the example we're using, of television, white lights are typically used for edge-lit TV screens (white light diodes are placed around the screen's perimeter). With RGB LEDs, though, they are typically behind the LCD panel, providing a uniform color range behind the screen. The Wonderful World of C...

What is LED Light Find the answer to the frequently asked LED Lights related question: What is LED Light? So just what is LED light? In two words, it is the future. It's the future of both household and commercial lighting. More and more homeowners are giving up their traditional incandescent bulbs and turning to the energy-efficient LED bulbs. Indeed, entire cities and states are trying to benefit the environment by adopting the new lighting technology. LED Light: A Definition LED stands for "light emitting diode." That's a high-tech way of saying that, instead of having a filament to provide light, the LED light uses diodes. A diode hosts electrons moving inside of semiconductor material, which thus generates light. The light created within these diodes is a cool light, as opposed to the heated light in an incandescent bulbs filament. Why the Switch? There are lots of good reasons that people are giving up traditional lighting methods in favour of LED light. For ...

Abbreviation of l ight e mitting d iode , an electronic device that lights up when electricity is passed through it. LEDs are usually red. LED has many strong points: 1. Long life – lifetimes can exceed 100,000 hours, as compared to 1,000 hours for tungsten bulbs. 2. Size: typical package is only 5 mm in diameter. 3. Energy efficiency – up to 90% less energy used translates into smaller power supply required 4. Non-toxicity – no mercury 5. Versatility – available in a variety of colors 6. Cool – less heat radiation than HID or incandescent 7. Low voltage and DC – more secure in some applications

LED lights are safe and save money. High-quality LED lights that meet stringent safety controls are “the way forward” for residents who want to slash their electricity bills. This is the message from businessman Michael Burke who fears the Global House lighting scandal could have put people off the energy-saving lights. The business owner, who is passionate about the environment and sustainable development, has spoken out to reassure people that there’s “absolutely no need to avoid LED lights at all costs”. Mr Burke sells LED lights through his company thegreenhousebermuda and says they have “a multitude of benefits”. It comes after Public Works Minister Derrick Burgess, who is also Deputy Premier, ignored the advice of technical officers and gave the go-ahead for LED lamps to be installed at Global House about two years ago at a cost of about $100,000. Works and Engineering staff were last week called in to start to reverse Mr Burgess’ original decision by replacing the LED fixtur...
